Arkansas State University-Newport sees a 12.8% rise in Spring 2025 enrollment, reaching 2,099 students. The growth highlights strong retention and concurrent enrollment programs, reflecting ASUN’s student-focused approach.

NEWPORT, Ark. – Arkansas State University-Newport (ASUN) is experiencing another strong semester of growth, with a 12.8% increase in enrollment compared to last spring. The Spring 2025 semester has welcomed 2,099 students, up from 1,860 in Spring 2024.

“This growth is a testament to ASUN’s commitment to student success,” said Dr. Johnny M. Moore, Chancellor of ASU-Newport. “Students recognize the value of an ASUN education, and we’re proud to provide opportunities that help them achieve their academic and career goals.”

•Enrollment Highlights:

•Freshmen: 113 students (5%)

•Transfer Students: 113 students (5%)

•Continuing Students: 970 students (46%)

•Concurrent (High School & College Credit): 641 students (31%)

The majority of ASUN’s enrollment comes from continuing students (46%) and concurrent students (31%), demonstrating the university’s strong retention efforts and its growing impact in providing early college opportunities for high school students.

“With nearly half of our students continuing their studies at ASUN and a strong concurrent enrollment program, we’re seeing firsthand the impact of our student-focused approach,” Moore added. “We’re excited to build on this momentum and continue serving students in our communities.”
