WILSON - Rivercrest’s Junior Lady Colts were successful Thursday, crushing Barton 43-20 in non-conference basketball action behind 14 points apiece from Armani Facon and Aniyah Wood. Taraija Davis provided six points and Reginae Thomas tallied four points in the lop-sided victory. London Magsby contributed 13 points for Barton in the loss.

Rivercrest outclassed Barton on the night, as they imposed a defensive presence early. Their defense didn't allow Barton a single point in the first quarter, and just three field goals in the second.

Facon started off on fire as she scored three straight buckets and a pair of free throws for eight first-quarter points, then added four more points, to lead all players with 12 at halftime. The Lady Colts tripled Bar-ton’s first half total and led 24-8 at the break.

The defense of Rivercrest left Barton players looking uncomfortable. They struggled to get good looks, and couldn’t knock down shots, even when they found them. Wood went on a quick scoring surge for eight points in the quarter, leading the way for the Lady Colts. They entered the fourth quarter in charge 37-15.

The Colts closed the door by allowing just five points in the closing quarter and went on to win by the final 23-point margin.
