Rivercrest senior Dakota Rinderer signs with Williams Baptist University to play college softball. After an injury-plagued season, she's eager to lead the Lady Colts to a deep playoff run in 2025.

WILSON - Rivercrest senior pitcher Dakota Rinderer signed to continue her softball career at Williams Baptist University in a ceremony Friday in the school library.

Rinderer, a four-year member of the Lady Colts squad, is being leaned on this season in the circle for the Lady Colts squad which was eliminated in the first round of the Class 3A State tournament last season while compiling a record of 13-8.

Rinderer is looking forward to the opportunity to play college softball. “I really liked Williams when I visited and I liked the girls on the team. They made me feel welcome,” said Rinderer. The Lady Colts star said WBU coaches plan to keep her in the circle at the next level.

Rinderer is hoping for two things this year, first of all staying healthy. She was limited to playing in just a few games last season due to injury. Secondly, Rinderer wants to see her team make a deep run in the playoffs. “I really want to make that championship game,” said Rinderer.

The Lady Colts will open the 2025 season Feb. 25 at home against the Marion Lady Patriots.
