Johnny Cecil Bryan, 79, of Etowah, Ark., died Sunday, Nov. 14, 2021 in Jonesboro, Ark. Born Nov. 7, 1942, in Tuckerman, Ark. He was a member of Etowah Baptist Church and he served as the Sunday School Superintendent. In the past he served on the Little River Water Association and he currently served on the Etowah City Council. He enjoyed his naps, cleaning the house, ironing and spending time with his family.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Charlie Marion and Francis Redell King Bryan; and one sister-in-law, Doris Bryan.
He is survived by his wife, Sheila Bryan, of Etowah; two sons, Michael Bryan, of Byhalia, Miss., and John Stokes (Tina), of Jonesboro; two daughters, Annette Washington (D.J.), of Somerville, Tenn., and Mandy Stokes, of Etowah; four brothers, O’Neal Bryan, of Lepanto, Ark., Bobby Bryan (Martha) and Kenneth Bryan (Glenda), all of Marion, Ark., and Larry Bryan (Pam), of Biloxi, Miss.; six grandchildren, Emiley Rumbaugh (Jeff), of Dyess, Ark., Josh Bryan (Jessica) and Brandon Washington (Heather), all of Oakland, Tenn., Shelby Moore (Eric) and Cody Stokes, all of Jonesboro, and Dawsyn Bryan, of Coldwater, Miss.; five great-grandchildren, Luke, Kinley, Juliana, Jackson and David; one great-grandchild on the way; and a host of nieces, nephews, other family and friends.
Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 16, 2021, at Delancey-Murphy Funeral Home in Lepanto, Ark.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 17, 2021, at Etowah Baptist Church in Etowah. Burial will follow in Garden Point Cemetery.
