Local museum receives state heritage grant

Arkansas Heritage recently recognized recipients of Small Museum and Arkansas Heritage grants at its headquarters in Little Rock. These grant programs provide awards to Arkansas’s small history museums, historical societies, historic houses and sites, and military museums. For this grant cycle, Arkansas Heritage awarded $55,600 to 17 recipients from across the state. The maximum grant award for the Small Museum Grant was $2,500. This year’s recipients include Altus Historical Society, Calico Rock Community Foundation, Inc., Cleburne County Historical Society, Cross County Historical Society, Hardy History Association, Fort Smith Historical Society, Henry Clay Yerger High School Museum, Little Rock Air Force Base Historical Foundation, Mississippi County Historical and Genealogical Society, Pope County Historical Foundation and Saunders Memorial Museum.
