Despite the freezing temperatures Sunday morning, the congregation of the Tabernacle M.B. Church in Osceola met early to begin a day of celebration. Pastor M.L. Smith and church members met at its historic church building on the east side of Osceola and caravanned with a police escort to its new facility on West Semmes Avenue. Members then gathered in the cold to hold a ribbon-cutting for their new church. The Rev. Smith was joined by Roy Pugh to officially cut the purple ribbon. The ceremony was followed by a day of worship and celebration with friends. The Rev. Smith gave all the credit, praise and glory to God.
