JT Yankaway, Sr., 83, died Monday, March 3, 2025. Born Feb. 16, 1942, in Ruleville, Miss., he was a member of Greater Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Sam and Lerotha Yankaway, Sr.; one sons, JT Yankaway, Jr.; one daughter, Teresa Tramble Kimbrough; three brothers, John Yankaway, Sr., Willie B. Yankaway, and Johnny Yankaway; and three sisters, Annie Lee Branch, Berthtiall Pearson, and Dollie Mae Brown.
He is survived by his wife, Nancy Yankaway; four sons, Phillip Yankaway (Rochelle), of Las Vegas, Nev., Ivory Thomas (Mary), of Osceola, Ark., Willie Bradley, Jr., of Atlanta, Ga., and Jerel Yankaway (Sherrita), of Memphis, Tenn; five daughters, Annette Yankaway, of Osceola, Tabitha Yankaway and Taffie Bell (Maurice), all of Peoria, Ill., Janet Childress, of Trumann, Ark., and Nicole Wright, of Marion, Ark.; one brother, Sam Yankaway, Jr., of Wilson, Ark.; and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren,
Visitation will be held from 1-2 p.m. Saturday, March 15, 2025, at Greater Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church, 50 S. Jefferson St., Wilson.
Funeral services will follow at 2 p.m. Burial will be held in Whiteside Cemetery in Osceola.
