The Town of Etowah recently announced it has received a Rural Services Block Grant. The city will receive $100,000.
The grant is from the Arkansas Economic Development Commission. The money will go toward the purchase of a fire truck for the volunteer department.
The city has also applied for a $50,000 grant from USDA to be used for the truck.
According to Etowah Mayor Bo McCollum, “Our volunteer fireman work very hard to keep current with training and equipment maintenance so that they can supply the community with the best protection possible.”
