The forecast winter storm hit the area early Friday morning dumping between four and seven inches of snow across Mississippi County. The winter weather caused the cancellation of a number of events, closed schools and some businesses. It also gave area residents the opportunity to experience some winter sports. The possibility of an-other round of snow and even colder temperatures is in the forecast and could impact the area between Jan. 18-20. Hundreds of local residents could be found sledding down the levee, riding 4-wheelers in the fields, and bringing Frosty the Snowman to life. Westin and Nova Simmons built this snowman in Osceola.
