Hays to close Main Street store in Blytheville

Hays, a longstanding name in the Blytheville community since 1935, has announced the upcoming closure of its supermarket located at 200 E Main Street. This decision comes as part of a broader plan to invest in the community and enhance the shopping experience at its other Blytheville location.

The store on Main Street will continue to operate for a short time so that inventory can deplete. Starting Friday frozen food, frozen meat and frozen seafood have been reduced to 50% off.

Employee Reassignments: Hays is committed to ensuring a smooth transition for its employees. All staff members from the closing location will be offered similar positions with the same pay at either the Hays supermarket located at 605 W Moultrie in Blytheville, or the Hays supermarket located at 815 W. Keiser in Osceola.

Planned Expansion and Remodel: Hays is excited to announce significant improvements to its current Blytheville supermarket on Moultrie. The store will undergo an expansion, enhancing all departments to better serve the community. This includes an increased emphasis on the hot and prepared foods department and the meat department, providing more options and improved services for customers.

In addition to the store expansion, the entire shopping center housing the supermarket will be remodeled. The updated center will feature a modern look and improved lighting, creating a welcoming and convenient environment for shoppers.

The remodel and expansion are slated to begin the first or second quarter of 2025, with completion expected by the end of 2025 or early 2026.
