A 26-year-old Luxora man who has been missing since Sunday is the victim of an apparent homicide.
Aaron Hopewell’s body was discovered by a bystander around 2:45 p.m. Wednesday in the 300 block of East Elizabeth Street in Osceola.
According to Captain Wels Skaggs with the Osceola Police Department, Hopewell was found laying in the backyard of the residence.
He had been missing since around 6 p.m. Sunday. Family notified the police on Tuesday and officers had been working the case as a missing person.

Born Oct. 5, 1998, Hopewell was employed by Hill Service - Steel Mill in Osceola. He was a former basketball player and 2017 graduate from Rivercrest High School in Wilson.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 28, at the Charles Strong Recreational Center in Luxora. Burial will be held in Whiteside Cemetery in Osceola.
